Ronnie Spiteri brings some new, serious summer heat on his own Kenja Records imprint. The Southampton native has a meteoric rise since that summer of 2016 that catapulted him into the spotlight. Honing his sound with international events brand, Do Not Sleep has exposed him to the cream of the industry and cemented his place among the A list tastemakers. With tracks on diverse labels from Alan Fitzpatricks’ We Are The Brave to Mark Knights’ powerhouse, Toolroom, it’s clear to see Ronnie is right where he belongs.

A slow burn project since 2015, Ronnie’s label Kenja has grown from strength to strength. This year he has a steady focus on getting some killer new releases on the imprint, along with a lot of his own productions.

Opening with ‘Demons’, its tougher than the remix, the kicks punch through the repeated bass with sparse percussion and tribalism’s add flavour. Vocals add some House familiarity as the track reaches its climax and we get set for that peak time stomp.
Steve Lawler’s remix of ‘Demons’, is as expected, the drums are super funky, the bass rubbery and the vibe groovetastic. Finally, ‘Alana’, its rumbling low end is countered by juggling percussion and sombre melodics. Powering from the first drop, new melodics add tension and interest rising and falling in intensity over time before dropping once more into an epic ‘trancey’ main break.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Alana’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
