‘Love Can Make It Happen’ might be one of DJ Sneak’s most intimate productions to date, centred around an ever-evolving vocal loop and dreamy strings up top with deep percussive elements that will melt the soul. Next up, ‘Going Back To It’ taps into classic Chicago house territories with smooth rolling chords riding up and down the scales as hefty drums and a badass bassline demand you dance.

On the flip, ‘Full Cycle’ is a perfect example of how Sneak is a master of loops – they roll on endlessly, interplaying to magical effect as tribal drums and vocal stabs pump up the energy. Last of all is the heady ‘Pockets’ with its trippy vocal panning about the mix and drum-driven groove to round out a slamming record that puts DJ Sneak back in his rightful place at the top.

A true scene legend, second-wave pioneer DJ Sneak has been synonymous with house music since the late 80s. The Puerto Rico-born Chicago mainstay was paramount to the development of the mid-90s house sound, appearing on labels like Cajual, Relief, and Strictly Rhythm and collaborating with legendary artists such as Daft Punk. After a short hiatus from the scene, DJ Sneak is back doing what he does best: making killer house tracks with a timeless and forward-thinking touch, the latest of which comes on Dam Swindle’s Heist Recordings.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Love Can Make It Happen’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
