NYE 2017: Defected Records take over Ministry of Sound

Institutions are important things, and certain ones have a global reputation for pulling out all the stops when it comes to music and dancing. Take Ministry of Sound for example, the 26 years old dance music institution that has set the gold standard for clubbing for more than two decades. Now look at Defected Records, the 21 years old music label that has been serving up the finest house music for a similar amount of time. So, where to look now? Well December 31st would be a good place to start, as these two institutions will be joining forces again for a very special party: The Defected Records takeover of Ministry of Sound. It’s a match made in heaven, no?

Defected are no strangers to London’s signature nightclub, having hosted their infamous New Years Eve party here four years in a row now, so it’s safe to say both parties know exactly how to throw a wicked shindig. Doing the rounds this time is label founder Simon Dunmore, Cuff frontrunners Amine Edge and Dance, Australian heavyweight Sonny Fodera, Origins Records founder Josh Butler, and New York house music wizard Roger Sanchez. Joining them will be UK talent Jess Bays, Swiss selector Dario D’Attis and Defected’s very own Andy Daniell. Now that’s a peach of a lineup.

So then, where to go this New Years Eve? There’s a lot of choice out there, but the Defected takeover of Ministry of Sound has definitely got our stamp of approval. House heads don’t sleep on this one, it’ll be sold out before you know it.

Defected Records land at Ministry of Sound on December 31st. Tickets here
