Aubrey Fry taps into the journeying spirit of electronic music as he serves up a hugely emotive new EP on Sasha’s Last Night on Earth.
Welshman Aubrey Fry knows how to make bold electronic statements. He has quickly proved that with EPs on the likes of John Digweed’s Bedrock where he blends elements of breaks, techno, and electronica to perfection. He has also collaborated with the likes of Stelios Vassiloudis, Alex Banks and Charlie May, exploring new sonic territories and releasing captivating remixes. Beyond his solo ventures, Aubrey is part of a band with Shanti Matkin and Frédéric Holyszewski, collectively known as ACiDTRAX and will serve up their debut EP in 2024 on The Soundgarden.
The powerful ‘Break It Down’ is a big room and festival anthem inspired by the electrifying vibes of Laurent Garnier and MODESELEKTOR whose “unparalleled level of expression and a profound passion for their performances, became my guiding foundation during the creation of this track.” Crowds have already responded to this track in a big way and it sure does take them on a euphoric journey with its colossal synth line in the breakdown, the angelic vocal backdrop and the scintillating grooves.
‘Projections’ was born from a profound musical experience at Ushuaia Beach Club when Fry saw Sasha play. He set out to capture the same magic of those times and the essence of the sun-kissed Balearics. As such he takes listeners on an emotional ride accompanied by the ever-potent organ and a harmonious balance between the infectious chug of the low end and exquisite musicality in the synths. It truly is a track that will transport you to the radiant shores of Ibiza.
Last of all, ‘Morning Riser’ was crafted exclusively during the early hours of the day and inspired by the sounds of those times. “Memories of unforgettable nights spent at Cocoon or the iconic main room of old Space Ibiza have been the main inspiration for this track.” It is a blissed-out piece that carries you away on soothing waves of synth, cosmic lines that have you gazing off to the stars and supple drums that never let up.
