PIV Boys – Prunk and Chris Stussy – are taking over Shelter with Apollonia

14 November 2018

After their three booming ADE parties last month the PIV boys Prunk and Chris Stussy were already looking at the next episode while still recovering from the successful week. The event we’re talking about is the PIV night coming Saturday at one of Amsterdam’s enigmatic clubs: Shelter. Shelter is the basement of the big tower on the North shores of the city. It holds an amazingly crisp sounds system, plus a super diverse crowd that’s always up for it. With their 24-hour license one never knows when the night is going to end.

For this special night Prunk and Chris Stussy have invited Apollonia: Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky. The trio hardly needs an introduction as they have swept away numerous dance floors all over the planet these past years, playing at: Circoloco, fabric, Sunwaves Festival and DGTL to name a few.

Not to forget Prunk and Chris Stussy themselves, as their PIV brand has become a household name in the Dutch scene throwing multiple, sought after nights like the previously mentioned ADE parties at BRET, Chicago Social Club and Madam. The two are also infamous for their b2b sets, they just played a crazy set in Dortmund last Saturday and their annual set at Strafwerk Festival definitely needs a honourable mention. We’ve asked them which records they will definitely play coming Saturday, so here’s their list:

Tracks Stussy

1. ‘Herbert – Thinking Of You’

As we play a 3,5 hour b2b warm-up set, it’s important to set the right tone for our headliners: Apollonia. This classic by Herbert will definitely set the right mood for the night to come.

2. ‘Republic 61 – I Say’

This essential track is another warm and groovy house tune that suits the early hours for sure.

3. ‘Viceversa -Sixsixtwo’

I just received this on vinyl, the B-side is pure swing, so I will 100% play this one.

4. ‘YYY – 606B’

You might think this one’s easy or simple, but every time I play it, it works. Dance!

5. ‘Chris Stussy – Atlas’

New track of mine that is coming out this week, perfect timing, will play it for the first time in Shelter!

Tracks Prunk

1. Laboratori OTK – Wonder Woman

I really love this track, it’s deep and groovy. People in Shelter will love this dubby vibe for sure.

2. Shawn Ward -Vintage Boogie

We always try to keep it soulful during our sets, big chance I’m going to play this one.

3. Prunk – New Mountain

One of my tracks from my last LP ‘Journey’ on PIV, this one always works very good on the dance floor.

4. East End Dubs – Nur

The crunchy beats in this track are amazing, just ordered the vinyl and I hope it’s on time to play it out coming Saturday.

5. Richenel – Fascination For Love (Garage Club Mix)

I grew up in the 90’s and this track always puts a smile on my face. Most of our long sets we play a 90’s tune and they always go down well.
