Kobhi – Give It to Me (+ Cerillo Remix) [Maison Rouge]

Dubliner Kobhi returns to budding UK imprint Maison Rouge this week with a splendid new EP, in our eyes his finest work to date. The three track release is headed up by ‘Give It to Me’, a bass heavy, warehouse ready tech cut jammed with all the signatures Kobhi touches – scintillating hi-hats, killer stabs sounds and a body shaking bass-line.

What’s more the track comes with a tasty rework from fellow Dublin producer Cerillo, a man who’s earned the plaudits of some big hitters in recent months, those include Viva Music boss Steve Lawler! Cerillo’s put his hard hitting tech house touch to the track, reworking the breakdown and simplifying the drop with an upfront drum/bass combo.

Kobhi closes out the EP with what is for us the “Unsung Hero”. “Tunnel Vision’ does exactly what it says on the tin. The track transports you into the midst of a dark, driving tech groove, from which there’s no escape. We’ve got this one on repeat at HQ, it’s simply delicious. Hats off to the Maison Rouge crew for another fine release.
