A Sharpe Subject Saturday with Truss

25 September 2014

In the midst of a busy couple of months, Dublin based promoters Subject continue their strong string of bookings this week with none other than Truss and Ireland’s own Sunil Sharpe.

While the other rooms will also be occupied with beautiful beats, the guys will take over the main room of The Twisted Pepper on Saturday for what is sure to be a night of the purest in powerful techno.

Truss is a name which should really need no introduction. But we’ll give it to you anyway. A man by the name of Tom Russell hails from London and is a techno titan who’s also worked under the alias of MPIA3. The alias Truss though, continues to gather more and more momentum. With productions like Beacon and Redbrook, it’s easy to see why.

A track thats almost sure to get a spin is his latest remix, a take on Jamie Curnock’s Transportation. Featuring on Onset Records’ opening release, it’s a damaging remix that’ll certainly do damage on that bass heavy Pepper system.  This snippet will get you craving the full thing.

One of the leading lights for Irish Techno, Sunil Sharpe is a favourite of many, both on our shores and across the seas. As a regular visitor to the Pepper we may often take his appearances for granted, but with a date upcoming in what will no doubt be a bulging Berghain alongside Marcel Dettman and Rødhad among others, with only the Innervision crew take over the Panorama Bar, we must put that into context and recognise Sunil’s undoubted talent and take pride in his visits to Pepper.
Prepare to have your socks blown off if you’ve never caught one of Sunil’s sets before! Here’s his set from Electric Picnic to give you a taster.

We recommend you put on your stomping shoes and get down to this one. It’ll be a cracker!

Thanks to the guys at Subject, we’re lucky enough to have a double pass up for grabs. Head over to our Facebook page to get involved!

If you aren’t the lucky winner, tickets are still available on RA. Don’t miss out!

And if you’re appetite wasn’t whetted enough already, check out a mix from the main man that only just went live. Lovely!
